Chawan - Shaped Matcha Bowl - Pauline Pelletier
The Chawan is a traditional Japanese tea bowl. Its wide bottom is very useful for whisking matcha. With its 23k gold accents, it is a piece of art that enhances the experience of both preparing and tasting tea. Handcrafted, it is a utilitarian and aesthetic object, symbolic of the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, which celebrates the beauty of imperfect and simple things. Its organic shape makes it pleasant to hold.
Although traditionally used for tea, it is also useful as a versatile piece of tableware.
This unique piece is handmade by ceramist Pauline Pelletier.
