Last summer, I took a 35-hour haute couture techniques course in Paris. I refined my methods, learned new concepts, perfected my finishes… but above all, I fulfilled a lifelong dream. During that short and intense week, I felt like I was returning to the very source of what has always driven me in my work as a designer: precision, patience, and attention to detail. This experience marked a decisive turning point for the rest of my career.

A Landmark Creation

Back home, I felt like taking out my wedding dress — the one I designed and sewed in 1993. I examined it with fresh eyes, 32 years after I made it. I had an epiphany: the meticulousness, the sense of detail, the finishes… everything was there.

The Intuition of Haute Couture

At twenty-four, without realizing it, I was already applying the principles of haute couture: every assembly, every detail, and every finish reflected spontaneous patience and skill. Only the hem, although hand-sewn, deviated from traditional standards because I had serged it rather than folding it twice.

A Garment, an Emotion

This dress moved me. In it, I found the passionate young woman I was back then and the accomplished artisan I am today. Over the years, my desire to create beauty, my rigor, and my need to give meaning to my work have intertwined. My past and my present come together through the sumptuous silk of my creation. A sincere moment, filled with gratitude.
