The Chawan is a traditional Japanese tea bowl. Its wide bottom is very useful for whisking matcha. With its 23k Gold accents, it is a piece of art that enhances the tea experience, both in preparation and tasting. Hand-crafted, it is a utilitarian, aesthetic, and symbolic object of the Japanese wabi-sabi philosophy, which celebrates the beauty of imperfect and simple things. Its organic shape makes it pleasant to hold.
Although traditionally used for tea, it is also useful as versatile tableware.
This unique piece is handmade by ceramist Pauline Pelletier.
