Christine Mercier, painter

Painting is for me a very personal and spontaneous creative act, a kind of escape from my daily work as a designer and businesswoman, a way to let go, to meditate, to express my determination imbued with gentleness.

There is certainly an aesthetic research in my work, but what I am looking for above all with my colors is light... sometimes in the literal sense, visually, sometimes more emotionally... I want my color compositions to touch a deep feeling, which we do not necessarily identify, but which does something to us inside, something that I want to be luminous!

When someone buys one of my paintings, I feel like I'm giving them a piece of myself.
